Timaru

I recently had the opportunity to go on a small group shoot by the old industrial are of Timaru with Timaru's photographic club, Focus Aorangi. The following is a selection of my better efforts.

My camera gear consists of my trusty Canon 450D with three different lens used for this shoot: EF 50mm f/1.4, EF-S 15-85mm and EF 70-300 L.

A small amount for processing to tweek the contrast, saturation, brightness etc and some cropping improved the images from the camera. Some rotation of images was necessary as well.

The old Mitre 10 car park.

The afternoon started off clear with a bright blue sky. However it slowly clouded over and by the time we had finished the sky was washed out and some potentially good shots were lost. I don't like the idea of cloning in a sky from somewhere else!

Lights in the railway yard - a good use of negative space?

Old machinery

Some cropping of the original shot provides a good frame for this old piece of machinery.

A good place for a penthouse?
